Re: ISA shunt simulator

isa_shunt.cpp isa_shunt.h I made an Arduino emulator that connects to the Zombieverter to display the voltage and current on the Web Interface - all good. I've modded the Zombieverter isa_shunt.h and isa_shunt.cpp so the BMW S-Box (shunt) now provides voltage and current readings to the Zombieverte...

Re: ISA shunt simulator

Thanks BigPie - I've run the log files in SavvyCAN and the web interface showed the figures nicely - I did notice in SavvyCAN that while trying to run the data in a loop with the original timings, the loop would stop every time on one record, but using a fixed timing of 20ms, all worked well. I'm no...

ISA shunt simulator

I have the ZombieVerter and latest firmware loaded. I wish to test the behaviour of the contactors upon startup. I don't have an ISA shunt to provide the zombie with the HV signals. Does anyone have an ISA shunt CAN log that I can replay using SavvyCAN so the Zombie believes the is high voltage avai...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Well done. I have really struggled to get the wemos programmed even after searching and reading the forum as much as I could. Could you point me to any info to get this working. I am sure the info is out there and I probably just missed it. Try this plus the wiki - https://openinverter.org/forum/vi...

Re: Zombie and injecting frames from SavvyCAN

It turns out the wiring etc for CAN2 outputs on zombieVerter pins 27 and 28, but, in the Web Interface, I needed to select CAN1 not CAN2

I believe this discrepancy is being corrected

Re: HOWTO: Flashing ESP8266

This turned into another pain. I replaced the original Olimax device with a NodeMCU which initially worked well but then connection kept dropping. The web page would display but the setting would not populate. So, to keep in line with standard, I went the ESP8266 D1 mini route, which also worked OK ...

Zombie and injecting frames from SavvyCAN

I have a bench set up with the GS450h motor/inverter and a bench power supply. I wish to simulate the pre-charge process but don't have an ISA shunt to provide the voltage to the ZombieVerter. Is it possible/has anyone done this, where SavvyCAN (or similar) is used to inject frames for the zombie an...

Re: CAN DBC files

I started a collection of dbc files. I made one for the isa shunt when configured as the wiki https://openinverter.org/wiki/Isabellenh%C3%BCtte_Heusler on my github https://github.com/jamiejones85/DBC-files I took the liberty of using your .DBC file for the BMW PHEV. I'm a complete newby to SavvyCA...

Re: CAN DBC files

I have a battery pack from a 530e which includes a shunt. I need a shunt but would prefer not to pay for an ISA. Using the ISA .DBC file from BigPie, would it be feasible to capture the CAN output from the BMW shunt and remap the messages so as the zombieVerter believes it's talking to an ISA? Or, I...

Re: Wanted ISA Ivt-s shunt UK

Today, I took delivery of a power pack from a BMW 530e which apparently includes a shunt..... could the ZombieVerter be enhanced to support this shunt in addition to the ISA, assumng they are both controlled CAN messages? EDIT: I've just realised there is the mapping function on the ZombieVerter ht...

UK E46 Touring - eBay auction ending soon

I've been looking for one of these for my GS450h running gear and actually bought one today. Inevitably once I bought mine, this popped up https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304643560867?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D859c4ca5a8b84638b53511...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Re: HOWTO: Flashing ESP8266

I am also trying to flash Olimex MOD-WIFI-ESP8266, but have the same problem as you. I changed some of the code and now I can connect to the module. My change to be able to connect was to change line 420 from WiFi.begin(); to WiFi.softAP("inverter","inverter123"); and line 416 t...

Re: Olimex MOD-WIFI-ESP8266 alternatives

Has anyone used a nodeMCU in place of the Olimex device? I'm trying to use this on a ZombieVerter. I have loaded FSBrowser.ino.modwifi.bin bootloader using the esptool.py as described in the Olimex MOD-WIFI-ESP8266 wiki page. The arduino software came from Johannes Huebner esp8266-web-interface on g...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

When you apply start signal, the negative and pre-charge contactors will close allowing the pre-charge. You will hold the start signal 'on' and once the pre-charge voltage has reached your settings (udcsw in the web interface), the positive contactor will close and the start signal can be disconnec...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

As I explained in the 3 video series linked on the VCU wiki page, a firmware lockup on upload does not equal a "bricked" vcu. Just power cycle the board and reupload as the bootloader is still running regardless of what firmware is in use on the device. To reiterate, the released firmware...
