Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up - Now OVERCURRENT

So I now have it in the car and 250v but as soon as I now touch the throttle pot it gives OVERCURRENT error. With it still in the car I have removed the 2 orange HV connection covers checked continuity with a meter. I have continuity between the HV B- terminal and all 3 of the HV phase terminals. I ...

Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up

Brilliant! The thing spins. I'm not entirely sure what fixed it. I gave it 36v and swapped the encoder pins and spins nicely. One very minor thing is that it seems to spin forward when it should be reverse but that's no issue. So big thumbs up for the zero ev replacement 23 pin data interface connec...

Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up

Cheers Johu, I wired the encoder as per: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76 Assuming that the image is looking into the the harness connector (wires at the back), I wired it: pin 1 to pin 17 encoder gnd pin 2 to pin 16 (encoder b) pin 3 to pin 10 (encoder a) pin 4 to pin 9 encoder 5v ...

Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up

SO some progress. I installed the new connector and it all lights up and I can connect via wifi! I did not however manage to get the motor to spin. I only have 2 x 12v batteries in series. The driveshafts started to move very slightly and then it keeps blowing the 32a fuse that I have between the ba...

Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up

THanks gents, I've ordered one from Zero Ev, which is one they make themselves (not oem). Should have that tomorrow so will report back (hopefully with good news).

LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up - Now OVERCURRENT

Hi All, I have the LDU logic board installed in a Tesla LDU (LDU or unknown origin). I have power going to the 23 pin connector on the ldu but it seems as if the board is not powering up, i.e no wifi available and no current at all is being drawn. I have removed the inverter cover and nothing obviou...

Re: UK IVA Modifications

I spoke with MIRA today as I need to get r100.1 and full IVA for a 2023 model year and plate. They are very helpful and I spoke directly with the tester who communicates well via email of mobile. From the info I received the test (although very expensive) is also very basic, they won't open up batte...

Re: UK IVA Modifications

I contacted MIRA this week. The guy that is responsible is on holiday but told he will contact me next week. I will try to get as much info as I can about obtaining R100.1 via MIRA. Obviously it's very interesting that Janosch produced a report that was acceptable for IVA without going through the R...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

HI Charlie,

It's not that pipe. I took some pictures of it:

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

Tesla_Motors_Model_S_base (2).jpg Actually, I managed to find a picture on the Tesla Model S wikipedia page that shows the pipe I am on about. You can just about make it out directly above the rear mount in the picture and snaking around towards the inverter side. So my issue is that the pipe has p...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread

Hi All, Slightly odd but my drive unit seems to have a cooling pipe that I can't see on other LDU's. It is a small bore (about 4mm OD) stainless pipe that comes out of the top of the coolant outlet (part 90 on the pic) and goes up and into a small hole on top of the ldu. On other ldu's I've seen the...

Re: UK IVA Modifications

Licensing it elsewhere and importing is a good idea, the certification agencies are in competition with each other in principle. It is a quite common practice. I think pre-Brexit it would have been a tad easier than it is now, but who knows, maybe someone can find a path? I don't know why people ar...

Re: UK IVA Modifications

Hey all. Has anyone actually gone through the process of getting battery boxes certified by MIra (or similar)? I think I may be forced to go this route so would be great to hear from anyone that has actually done it. Is there a manual or guidance that covers exactly how to make a battery box complia...

Thanks, much appreciated.

What's the point of the hole at the end? Bottom left corner of the picture above?

Re: Porsche Boxster 986 Tesla conversion [FINISHED]

Update time. A few weeks ago I was trying to get to the bottom why my CAN mapping wasn’t working properly. Through my own carelessness and bone-headed approach, I ended up with a catastrophic failure of the inverter. Johannes’s reminder to lower the occurlim value when experimenting is good advice ...
