Re: 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander rear drive

Hi Alwyn,

I'm planning a project using i-Miev parts here in NZ, but that new unit looks really interesting. Have you weighed it? Actually the weight without the gearbox would be ideal to know?

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS

Ive got some updates to push out soon, I'm in the process of adding in chademo and a few other bits, just not got much time at the moment and it's just too bloody cold in the garage! Hope the garage is warming up, I'm keen to use Chademo myself. Random question as I study your code prepping for my ...

EVO AF130 Axial Flux motor - easy to drive?

Hi all, In a recent web surfing procrastination I came across these motors https://turntide.com/learning/evo-axial-flux-electric-motor-af130/ If I got carried away with my credit card and bought one is it going to be hard to find and set up an inverter to drive it (assuming I don't buy one from the ...

Re: RWD reduction box

After an overly long email chain I have some info in the ZeroEV gearboxes and Zonic motors. Let me know if you are interested and I'll share.

Re: RWD reduction box

I've emailed them for more info on this and one of their new motors.

It probably is an adaptation of a transmission output. And there could be some sort of changeable coupler in there as the hyper9 and their new motors have different shafts.

I'm hoping it has a speedo drive also.

Re: EM57 current to torque measurement

There has to be some relationship, that's just phyics. The capacitors will smooth the curve, but the dc voltage and current in must relate directly to the AC current and voltage out surely?

Has no one measured this?

EM57 current to torque measurement

Hi All, I have done a bit of searching and haven't found any good info on this. Has anyone measured the actual dc current input for a given torque output in an EM57 system? Any measurements would be great, a graph would be brilliant. I'm would like to get some info on this so I can work out what siz...

Re: RWD reduction box

I think I might try this reduction gearing idea myself, when I eventually get round the drive line construction.

For calculating the motor offset from the prop shaft, and ultimately if I will have room in the transmission tunnel. What is the distance between the gear shaft centres?

Those types of joiners are ok for use in military aircraft so go ahead just use a good heat gun with the wrap around attachment thingy to heat all round at once, and make sure the solder flows.

Thanks, that helps. And thanks for sharing your code, I actually have your web page open in another tab right now. It will come in very hand soon I hope.

Now I'm off to build some vehicle scales.

Leaf gen 2 inverter weight

Hi All, I had this info somewhere but I can't find it. Can someone please tell me what the Leaf gen 2 inverter weighs? I'm calculating what battery size I can get away with and ever kg counts. I remember that the EM57 is 55kgs and the whole drive tower is 86kg I think. But what is the inverter. Than...

EM47

Hi all, Has anyone come across an EM47 motor yet? It's the new motor in the Note and is better spec'd than the EM57 but I really want to know it's size and weight. There a miss quote here and other places that it's 30% smaller and lighter but this was from an article talking about the new inverter. ...
