Tesla charger gen 3 contactors (GV150-002-A)

Haven't seen anything on the contactors from the tesla supercharger contactor for DC/AC, so i thought i write down my findings. The coil seem to be 12v, and it draws 2A at that voltage. The contact holds down to 2v when already magnetized, where the draw 0.1A, so PWMing them seems like a good idea, ...

Re: Kia E-niro 100/150kW motor

Interesting project but are you now thinking of using the Kia final drive in the landrover? As the E Niro final drive ratio is something like 8.206:1 - so if this is connected up to the live axles in a series landrover which are something like 4.7:1 you'll get a total drive train gear reduction of ...

Charging from mains 3-phase 240v vs 3-phase 400v

So, the tesla gen 3 charger seems to use 240v/module (ground to phase x3) to charge the battery? That is at 16A 16*240*3=11,5Kw, for 32a its the double, 23kw. But if the charger instead use phase to phase voltage of 400v we can manage with quite a smaller mains current, ie 16*400*3=19kw of a 16a fus...

Your car choice certainly violates the first rule of EV conversions: Don't start with a rust bucket that you spend more time on fixing rust holes than actually performing the conversion 😅 With direct drive you'll possibly have problems with lack of torque at low speeds. Haha, yeah, i Know, is more ...

There have been a couple of threads trying to get the earlier version of this Q211 to work and looks like they all have pretty much failed. Re: lexus NX300h 82090-48020 114kw "differential"

Just been looking at options for Toyota inverters and NX300H wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_NX indicates the rear motor is only 50kW (the front being 105kW). Aaah, may be so, explains the lack of cooling, maybe you kan make a bit more power with oil cooling then. or convert a aw...

Re: Kia E-niro 100/150kW motor

Not sure what is the problem... So syncofs is probably around 3000. So now you give it some throttle and it revs up to 3000 rpm, which normal no load behaviour - it is torque controlled, not speed controlled. Does it rev down when you release throttle? ah, but in the FOC-video Damien says that the ...

So yesterday I tried to do a bit of FOC-tune according to the FOC-video, but got mostly strange results. no matter what the sync offset is the motor vill normally rev up to 3000rpm at full throttle at around 200v DC When I did Id-current test, i got the following: voltage:193v syncofs Id-current mov...

Re: Prius Gen2 A/C compressor inverter

An off the shelf VFD would probably drive the compressor just fine. Most of my machine toolks are using HuanYang inverters and that includes the router with the 24,000rpm synchronous spindle motor. You can just bypass the input rectifier and go straight to the DC bus. I haven't bought one for a whi...

Re: Toyota Prius gen2 plug and play

I have the same problem at the moment, when running the inverter in manual mode the main contactor never closes. I watched damiens video on FOC, and there he connects the HV directly to the inverter trough the lightbulb, so I guess one have to do the FOC-tuning by forcing the contactors or connectin...

Re: Kia E-niro 100/150kW motor

Resolver setup should be easy with this diagram. You might want to parallel MG1 and MG2 outputs to get most power out of it. 11000 rpm is challenging with open inverter as field weakening stops working when coming OFF the throttle. But up to like 6000 or 7000 rpm it should work smoothly. More inves...

Re: Kia E-niro 100/150kW motor

The angle refers to the electrical angle, not the mechanical angle of the axle. Thus, it is possible and maybe also expected that there are multiple electrical rotations for each mechanical rotation. Based on the image of the resolver, respolepairs=2 should be correct. Ah, my bad then, thanks, then...

Re: Kia E-niro 100/150kW motor

Ok,so started to prod the kia motor this evening, the resolver resistance is quite different from the prius resolver though. the kia resolver has as follow: -/+ 26,3 ohm S1/S3 84,3 S2/S4 75,6 ohm Compared to the prius p112 that has 8, 14 and 14 ohms on the winings I guess that the -/+ is the primary...
