Re: Help with this ElectroHydraulic Power steering pump?

Hi, just checking was this working before and has now stopped ?

if so normally these pumps have a 3rd wire which is wired to IGN, probably best to check that its still got the IGN 12V signal.

the vw version of this pump has been known to fail from time to time and it might just need replacing.

Re: VW electric coolant heater

Hi, looks like the coolant to heater is the lower pipe and heater to heater matrix is normally the top, depending on which way you heater is mounted. this is the diagrams from a e-golf and golf gte

i pulled these from the LDF files on the site. looks like there an extra value we can transmit which is ramp rate in a unit of watts per second. PTCe_01: 28, HCP4_uC2_1, 4 { TME_NV_PTC_soll, 0; TME_NV_PTC_ein, 8; TME_NV_PTC_Rampe, 9; } PTCs_01: 48, PTC1, 8 { NV_PTC_I_ist, 0; NV_PTC_P_ist, 8; NV_PTC_...

Re: VW electric coolant heater

I'm confused. have you sent an output of 100% to your heater and only got an output of 2.5kw ? if so can i ask what voltage you where running the heater at ? as it does have a recommended power range.

Re: VW electric coolant heater

muehlpower, thank you for all your work on this. Seeing the spec of the heater being upto 5/7kW. The LIN control message only has on byte for power level request, this means we can only request 2.5kW. Has anyone been able to get more out of the heater then the 2.5kW. Is it possible that Byte one co...

Re: VW A/C Compressor

Hi, CAN bus and LIN run in different ways. Lin is a lot simpler. On CAN once the module has power it will constantly transmit its data regardless of if anything is listening. Lin works on a master/slave principal. so the master module has can transmit any control data it wants. but the slave module ...

looking at the circuit board it looks like it should be bi directional. think vwbrady mentioned it was linbus controlled so should be easy to control. if anyone has a merc we can connected to we can log the linbus and easily be able to control both the battery and dc converter saving tearing these t...

Re: Battery HVIL and AirBag connections to HV battery

The HVIL or interlock is just a safety line which is used to shutdown the entire HV system if any part is unplugged. most modules this is just a pass thru the battery module is the originator. there has to be two 75ohm resistors (or one 150ohm) two emulate the motor and inverter A crash signal is tr...

hi as we don't have a Mercedes section i put this in general. has anyone tried this 48v battery with 12v dcdc converter ontop? looks quite interesting. looks like a bi directional dc converter going from 48 to 12v found these images on this site https://forum.esk8.news/t/mercedes-oem-l09-1-ev-batter...

I have attempted to log the powertrain data from an id3 but unfortunately it uses CAN-FD. now just waiting on a new can to usb with FD compatibility. also from what i read the module might have component protection rendering it useless.

I got my hands on an electric liquid cabin heater from a BMW F30 330E. I think its around 5kW. No idea about wiring and control yet. HV positive and neutral are through the large orange cable. Its has a thermostat on the outlet pipe. A 3 cable (Brown, brown/red & brown/white) connector then on ...

well spotted, i missed that and interesting the see the output of what can be assumed to be the 48v DCDC converter. if you can power your board and see what can frames you receive it might help narrow down the modules

Nice project, I have to agree with johu. do not pierce the insolation as the battery module measures the insolation resistance every 60 sec and if out of spec shuts down the battery. if you connect between the battery and inverter or to PTC / AC pump. the battery wont charge unless the ign is on. un...

Re: VW Can Log with Engine running

on the mk3 golfs the ABS was completely independent , on the mk4 golf (same as the beetles) the ABS should still be completely independent its only if you have a ESP where it would listen for engine information (rpm, torque) to then send out torque limitations (when required).
