Re: Volt gen2 BMS

I had screenshots of a lot of the wiring diagrams at one point, but I'd have to go digging around for them. I can't remember if I have them in cloud storage or local

Re: 1971 GMCe Lexus GS450H BMW 530e Tesla Model S powered Electruck [FINISHED]

Honestly I am still a little bit confused by this, I think I bought V2, I got it from here Lexus GS450H VCU When I say I am confused, it is because in one place it reads: " V2 controller for the Lexus GS450H inverter" and then you click the link and it reads: "Product Code: gs450h_ v...

alright moving down the list, next is Pin #17 on the gray A Connector, in the code aka Sketch it is defined like so on pin 50 (can someone explain to me how it can be on pin 50 out of 40 total pins between the two 20 pin connectors? ha ha) #define Out1 50 this one controls the HV battery Main Conta...

Re: 1971 GMCe Lexus GS450H BMW 530e Tesla Model S powered Electruck [FINISHED]

So my not doing continued and I was not doing anything just fine until I came across the Oil Pump wiring/pin out, I know I can ditch the Oil Pump relay on pin 15 on the gray A Connector, but as one forum member suggested, can I repurpose Pin #6 on the black B Connector for the Oil Pump PWM ? Though...

Re: PCB Routeing

My 2 cents as an electrical hardware engineer: Don't use autoroute. It's almost useless. Most routing is (or should be) completely manual. The exceptions are features that supplement manual routing such as interactive routing of differential pairs where you control the path traces take, but the desi...

Re: Volt gen2 BMS

I'm going to start working on getting the Gen2 BMS working for me soon, but I was curious about one thing: Does the BMS care about the pack configuration? In other words, does the BMS monitor the expected voltage as cells/modules add up, or does it only look at the individual cell voltages? Wonderi...

Re: Welcome to the forum - please read if you're new

Hi all! New to the forum here, but I've been building an electric VetteKart for about 3 years now. I just recently pivoted from my 108V HPEVS/Curtis setup and purchased a base model LDU after I got a Gen 2 Volt pack. The LDU and a Gen 2 charger are what brought me to the openinverter forum. Really ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Charge Port Controller Standalone Development

Oh yeah those are no problem with a little bit of care. Here's what you need to do if you haven't got a good method yet: Put a little bit of solder on one corner pad (IC is not on the board yet). Keep the rest of the pads dry for now Hold the iron down on the edge of the pad and use tweezers to slid...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Charge Port Controller Standalone Development

Wow. Soldering SMD to adapter boards SUCKS! What kind of tools does everyone use for SMD soldering? I am fairly certain I made a complete mess of my first try. -Matt What part(s) were you trying to put down? You can do anything with: Hot air gun Fine-tipped soldering iron Fine-point tweezers Qualit...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

I see. So on V5 (Not V5a) USB lines were brought in the the STM32 and just not used? If so that's good enough for me.

Re: Welcome to the forum - please read if you're new

I was using dual 1239E-7621 controllers with an AC 35x2. I never spun the wheels with them, but I had everything mounted and wired in the car. It started as an engineering senior design project when I was in college and the batteries were on loan from another university department. The way the timin...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

I've got your firmware on now and the wifi interface is working, so I think that will do what I need. I hate to leave it with features not working though. Makes me think I could have other problems.

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

I'm able to load Damien's FW and use the serial interface (menu, debug messages) via a USB UART bridge on CONN8, but I still don't have USB serial. I thought there might be a clock issue (saw that happen with a USB audio device at work recently) and the load caps on Y2 looked too large, but changing...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread

I'm having trouble getting a couple Gen 2 V5 boards brought-up. I've programmed the boards with an ST-Link V2 (bootloader and application code), but I always get a "USB device not recognized" message and "Device descriptor request failed" in Device Manager when I connect the logi...
