Can someone tell me what program is being used here, over the top of the Orion utility, to get the explanations of the CAN messages?

Re: CHAdeMO on Orion BMS - Solved
I'm trying exclusively on Tritium brand DC chargers as they are dominant here, plus I have friends that work there. They provided this useful graph of my charging session attempts, which leads me to the x102 which is causing the error.

Re: CHAdeMO on Orion BMS - Solved
Hi all, I'm unable to charge on CHAdeMO and suspect there is something wrong with the x102 CAN message as I've been told that the car is sending an error flag on x102 to the charger which then stops the session proceeding. My question is how do I interpret what the Orion BMS is sending on x102? I've...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Thanks for confirming my worst fears :( Seems crazy that one little tap on the throttle can destroy an expensive motor, but that's what it is. I knew that the openinverter option came with inherent risks, and I have to live with it. Are there any photos on the web or here of the IGBTs that are likel...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Update from the conversion workshop after checking continuity: it's zero resistance in one direction and around 50ohms in the other direction on one of the phases. All 3 have continuity but that's not exactly a dead short. Is that repairable? If not does anyone sell just the inverter board or am I u...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Shattered to hear that! It was a fairly innocuous fault / failure, just a slow hill start, not like I was mashing the throttle in a drag race or anything. We started with all the default settings, then just adjusted a few to follow Catphish's setup, so that's why Tripmode 2 was set as it was default...

SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Hi all, Getting my head around tuning the parameters for the first time in my VW bus. Today's test drive was going so well until a STOP - OVERCURRENT error occurred, and then after that I couldn't get the inverter to select a gear (D or R) to drive, so I had to get a tow truck home :( Backstory - 19...

Stumped with Orion BMS and CHAdeMO charging
Firstly, I am in Australia and have requested assistance from Andrew at Orion but he hasn't been able to provide any help unfortunately (too busy and no access to his CHAdeMO test vehicle... ). My 2nd EV conversion - a VW T2 bus with Tesla SDU and Orion BMS (link to project thread below) - wo...

Re: '73 VW Tesla Bus and '49 Pontiac
It's been a long time since I updated this thread. The restoration of the '73 VW has been continuing alongside the Tesla swap conversion by Traction EV workshop here in Brisbane, Australia. It's been a long, expensive journey but I'm sure everyone is familiar with that. Fitting 14 Tesla modules, SDU...

Re: How will an SDU go with 10 Tesla modules?
I thought it was a hell of a job to modify Tesla modules? Would prefer to avoid that if possible.
Mainly want to know a definitive source of minimum operating voltage for a SDU?
HSR Motors website lists it as 240V...?

How will an SDU go with 10 Tesla modules?
Hi guys
How would a vintage VW single cab truck go with a Tesla SDU and just 10 x 5.3kWh modules?
The intention is definitely non-performance, just light duties, etc. Does the SDU operate down to 200V?

Re: Tesla subframe: same for SDU and LDU?
Yes, width is a problem, hence my 2nd question in opening post about shortening a Tesla subframe. The Pontiac's track width is 59" compared to the massive 67" on the Tesla. I'll see if those Holden made suspension parts are available easily in Australia. But am a bit wary of lots of fabric...

Re: Tesla subframe: same for SDU and LDU?
The attachment points of the LDU and SDU are the same, the subframe is interchangeable. Do you want to have a rigid axle again or convert to IRS? Contemplating options at the moment, though prefer to mount it in place of the rigid axle and convert to IRS. It's for a 1949 Pontiac Streamliner. So sim...

Tesla subframe: same for SDU and LDU?
Hi all I have an LDU with no subframe, but wouldn't mind finding one - just wondering if I find one that had an SDU in it, would it fit the LDU? Also, has anyone shortened a subframe before? If so any links to see how it was done? For background, I'm planning a project to put an LDU in place of a re...

Re: 1950 Mercury Lead sled
Amazing!! This is a real inspirational build for my '49 Pontiac fastback project that is waiting in the wings (after my current Tesla VW bus conversion project). I want it to be a low slung, stealth lead sled as well, but with a rough patina finish. Did you design and build the whole new chassis fro...

We're starting to solder in the Openinverter board into the Tesla SDU now... exciting times.

Re: '73 VW Tesla Bus and '49 Pontiac
Looks great looking forward to following this. Have you any plans already for the battery box(s)? Yes, the 3 battery boxes have been designed and fabricated to accommodate the 14 tesla modules - one under the belly and two in the rear engine bay. No loss of internal space for batteries. they've bee...

Yes, I can't remember if we were influenced by your Chademo exhaust or we just realised there was no other spot for it as the JB was right there in the fuel tank and the AC port was already using the old fuel filler position...

Re: '73 VW Tesla Bus and '49 Pontiac
Very nice. Can you share some more details about the SDU mount? Is it your own design? Does it just hang on the transaxle mountings or is there something else as well? It's a custom design by Traction EV, it hangs off the original mountings. It helps to leave as much room as possible for battery bo...
